28 Monsters

Matthew O'Brien of 28 Monsters started his working career as a painting apprentence with his Dad in 2004. He always had a passion for photography and would shoot when he could. In 2005, aged 18, Matthew made the move to motion pictures and started filming surfing - taking him on a whirlwind travels around the pro tours. Unfortunately in 2008 he was hit with a number of set backs (arthritis in both hips) and had to pull back from this persuit. After going back to study film at QSFT Matthew won STAB Magazines Little Weeds comp and choose to leave his studies and pursue a career as a full time surf photographer. 28 Monsters is the result: http://www.28monsters.com.au

On INfront

A New Forum This Wednesday

What's this? Could it be a sneak peak of OUR NEW FORUM THAT IS LAUNCHING THIS WEDNESDAY? Why yes, it is!

Built from the ground up, the new forum is going to let us have comments and community involvement all over the site and sucked into one place - making it much easier for everyone. This little taste you see above is when someone has commented on a news item - it is also brought into the forum. Same thing will happen on Studio and Talk sections too.

Some cool features have been built in like auto linking (no more html - super easy embedding of video and images), the ability to report on users and posts by the community and a new message board format.

There are a few bits like private messaging we are still working on and won't make it into the first release, but as we have said many times before - INfront is a constant work in progress.

So if you haven't already, register yourself an account. Bookmark http://www.australianinfront.com.au/forum and come this Wednesday morning we will have a brand new tool for our community to get involved with.

*Note: Old usernames, passwords and post count on the existing forum will not work on the new forum. This is a fresh start.

Directory Of The Week

Alister Coyne

Alister has been a longtime supporter or INfront and he has finally come around to load his directory into the new site. Good work Alister!

Alister has been successfully freelancing under the moniker 'Hairy Cow' for the last 6 years. During this time has travelled the globe and worked for a wide range of clients such as ANZ, Virgin Atlantic and Nike.

We can all thank Alister for his article titled "Freelancing in London" which became staple reading for all the other INfront members looking to follow the same path.

He has always threatened to write more about being a travelling creative and we really wish he would.

You too could be Directory Of The Week. Doesn't take too much work to get the extra exposure you need - all for free too! Set up a profile here and start uploading. We'd love to see your work.

Round-Up is published by Australian INfront Pty Ltd every Monday morning - delivering fresh Australian creative inspiration and community news to your inbox.
